What is Bulk Billing?
Bulk billing means you pay nothing out-of-pocket for your consultation.
Our doctors claim the full Medicare rebate from the government on your behalf.
What is a Medicare Rebate?
A Medicare rebate is a government subsidy that helps cover the cost of healthcare.
Normally, you might pay a "gap" after the rebate.
With the exemptions below, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate even without a gap fee. Generally it is a requirement that you have seen the doctor or the surgery before in person within the last 12 months to be eligible for a Medicare Rebate or Bulk Billing for Telehealth consultations with a doctor.
Exemptions to the Established Clinical Relationship Rule for Bulk Billing Telehealth Items
- Homelessness: If you are experiencing homelessness.
- Babies: If you are under 12 months old.
- Sexual Health: For conditions like STIs, erectile dysfunction, and contraception.
- Mental Health: For mental health plans and consultations lasting over 20 minutes.
- Pregnancy: For consultations regarding pregnancy, arranging blood tests and scans in relation to your pregnancy.
Online Doctors Australia Offers:
- Bulk Billing: For all eligible patients with Medicare and a Concession card.
- Medicare Rebates: For all eligible patients, even without a Concession card. With Medicare rebates there is usually a gap fee. Please reach out to reception if you require more information.
